My passion for finance and business arose at a very young age.  The first-born child of two high school teachers in a small village in China, I chose the Shenzhen School of Business & Economics instead of high school. By the age of 17, I was living independently, having landed a sought-after job with the Bank of China in Shenzhen, at that time a city rapidly emerging as a metropolitan powerhouse bordering Hong Kong.

I began preparing myself for even better opportunities by taking English classes at night while working as an accountant for the Bank of China.  When the opportunity came, I decisively quit my job to study for the TOEFL exam (Test of English as Foreign Language) for three months to obtain a full-time student visa to study Finance in the U. S.  At age 20, I left my little corner of the world and flew across the broadest ocean in the world with just $800 in my pocket, a yearning for adventure in my mind, and with excitement and curiosity in my heart for my new life in the land of opportunities.

It has been this same kind of courage and positive attitude that has guided my journey in the business world over the last 25 years.  I passed the CPA exam in 1996, working for a large private company briefly before starting a public accounting career with KPMG in Minneapolis. There, as a Senior Tax Specialist, I gained valuable experience in personal financial planning for corporate executives, especially in incorporating stock options strategies and tax planning in individualized financial plans.

Realizing that I enjoyed financial planning much more than preparing income tax and gift tax returns, I decided to change my career from a tax CPA to a financial advisor in 2000.  I honed my craft by studying and passing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam in March of 2001.  I became a CFA® charterholder in 2016.  I gained extensive experience working in financial services at firms both large and small in Minnesota for about 15 years before launching Echo Wealth Management as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in 2015.

As the Founder and President of Echo Wealth Management, I believe in taking the complexity out of wealth management.  We start with holistic financial planning for each client and then implement investment strategies in-house to give our clients seamless experience from planning to executions and ongoing monitoring of your goals.  I enjoy helping clients confidently pursue their passions and dreams by aligning their values, aspirations with their resources.

I enjoy traveling around the world with my daughter, Nina.  We live in Plymouth, Minnesota with our petite goldendoodle, Luna.
