At age 20, I left my little corner of the world and flew across the broadest ocean in the world with just $800 in my pocket.

My passion for finance and business arose at a very young age.  The first-born child of two high school teachers in a small village in China, I chose the Shenzhen School of Business & Economics instead of high school. By the age of 17, I was living independently, having landed a sought-after job with the Bank of China in Shenzhen, at that time a city rapidly emerging as a metropolitan powerhouse bordering Hong Kong.

I began preparing myself for even better opportunities by taking English classes at night while working as an accountant for the Bank of China.  When the opportunity came, I decisively quit my job to study for the TOEFL exam (Test of English as Foreign Language) for three months to obtain a full-time student visa to study Finance in the U. S.  At age 20, I left my little corner of the world and flew across the broadest ocean in the world with just $800 in my pocket, a yearning for adventure in my mind, and with excitement and curiosity in my heart for my new life in the land of opportunities. As an associate wealth manager, I work closely with Echo in creating and maintaining the Echo Dashboard, the customized client homepage for each client.   In addition, I am responsible for maintaining efficient business operations by leveraging new technologies in serving our clients.  I joined Echo Wealth Management in 2016, following my graduation from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.

Integrity and compassion are two words that describe, motivate, and inspire me to serve those around me to the best of my ability and have aided in me obtaining a degree from UW-Madison. As a student, I had the privilege of serving as the president of a student organization that represented the Personal Finance Major as well as serving as a Financial Life Skills Peer Educator. I had the opportunity to help fellow students better understand the role that finances and financial related decisions have in their lives. Through these experiences and my academic studies, I quickly developed a passion for personal wealth management and knew this was the perfect fit for me. Read More

I work closely with Echo in my position as an associate wealth manager. My main role is to create, maintain, and enhance the Echo Dashboard in accordance with client goals and investments. This requires that I first fully understand each client’s financial situation, so I can identify ways of improving the processes that help the client to reach their goals. My main focus is on fact finding and analytically solving complex issues using Microsoft Excel. I joined Echo Wealth Management in June 2018, following my graduation from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in May of that same year.

I was fortunate enough to play four years on the University’s NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey team as a Saint Mary’s University Cardinal and I served as the assistant captain during my senior season. I graduated with twin Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Finance and Business Intelligence & Analytics. Read More

Like many children of immigrants to the United States, I come from humble beginnings. My parents came to the U.S. as refugees displaced by the Vietnam War, and raised me and my siblings in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.  Their main focus was on their difficult acclimation to westernized society, and as a result I grew up with limited financial awareness.  The challenge this adversity provided me was undoubtedly a burden, but it empowered me throughout my academic career.

In college I majored in Finance because I wanted to study the principals and economics applied in the decision making of organizations.  I also hoped to scale these parameters and apply them in my own personal and professional life. Throughout my studies I was inspired by my parents and their struggles, however, and I found myself wondering: how can I use the knowledge I’ve acquired to help others gain financial understanding? From this kernel grew my passion to aid others in making informed and effective financial decisions in order to realize their dreams. Read More
